Anne Munene is the founding manager of Lukuai Hay Farm in Laikipia North. She has helped to convert the 462 acres overgrazed and degraded arid land to a model hay farm supplying hay to several counties in Kenya.
She is Agriculturalist who has worked as an Agriculture Extension Officer and also taught Agriculture in Secondary school in Kenya.
A thought leader in grasslands rehabilitation in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) in Kenya, she is an experiential advocate of minimum tillage and over-seeding in the reclamation of denuded and overgrazed range lands.
Anne is a trainer on pasture production in ASALs and to hay end users such as livestock farmers, dairy co-operatives, NGOs and regional agencies e.g IGAD’s Centre for Pastoral Areas and Livestock Development and CIFA Kenya.
Her training is in the format of keynote speeches in livestock /dairy conferences, hosting field days at Lukuai Hay Farm and as the author of the Lukuai Hay Farm Blog.
Anne has been involved in the tourism industry designing agriculture tours to Kenya.
